Dr Charles P. Leblond was Chairman of McGill University’s Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology from 1957 to 1974. He has been responsible for the development of a number of essential techniques advancing the field of anatomy and cell biology, such as autoradiography. This methodology has been critical in allowing researchers to visualize radioactively labelled tissues and/or cells under the microscope. At the end of his career, Dr Leblond maintained a part-time research effort on bone by collaborating with researchers at the Shriners Hospital for Children.
The ” CP Leblond ” award is usually presented at the Network for Oral and Bone Health Research’s Scientific Day.
