On October 28, some 40 people attended the RSBO Café scientifique on the topic: Flossing, yes or no?
Few weeks prior to that event, a social media crisis had disrupted our understanding of the benefits of flossing: Study Says Benefits Unproven!
This flood of news has moved health care professionals and members of professional dental organizations around the world—such as the American, Canadian and Australian Dental Associations—to come together and strategize how best to inform the public on this issue.
In Montreal, the Network for Oral and Bone Health Research offered this free event to all. Researchers, clinicians, experts in the analysis of scientific literature as well as the Director of Knowledge Networks for the Canadian Dental Association were invited to outline and discuss the facts.
